PRODUCTION & BEEF PROCESSING FACILITY

The production facility has a high throuhput, with a capacity to slaughter up to 800 head of cattle per day. This equils approximately 230,000 cattle carcasses annually, which in turn equates to 63,000 tons of meat.

Our state-of-the-art abattoir and processing facility is situated in Kimberley, a mere hour’s drive from our feedlot in Christiana. It is strategically located in the geographical centre of South Africa, close to all main transport routes.

We achieve the highest quality beef with the best possible shelf life, taste and flavour through:

• Optimal meat handling processes
• Superior cold chain management and unrivalled cooling technology
• Highly skilled employees who are passionate about producing quality beef

Our team consists of experienced management, meat specialists and beef craftsmen. Our hi-tech portioning and packaging facilities allow us to custom-package and debone products according to specific client requirements.

OUR FEEDLOT

The capacity of the feedlot is 50 000 head of cattle.

Our feedlot near the town of Christiana in the North West is the ideal location to raise the finest cattle to produce world-class beef.

We source cattle from throughout southern Africa, including buying cattle from local farmers, no matter the breed. All animals are individually assessed on arrival in Christiana to determine the regimen required to ensure they meet our exacting standards. Reducing stress is an imperative for us, and this is achieved through a combination of rest, water and healthy feed, as well as transporting cattle on specially designed trucks.

Every month we prepare feed, comprising natural products which are largely self-produced. We partner with grain farmers to produce silage that meets our strict standards.

Each animal, once inspected, weighed and immunised gets a digital ID. This allows us to ensure that all animals receive care from our trained staff, which caters
to each animal’s unique needs.

OUR OPERATIONS

We are involved in the entire value chain, from rearing and farming cattle, to meat processing and packaging, to delivering to our customers locally and internationally.

This requires many fundamentals that are not traditionally agricultural. These include the management of a fleet of road trucks, earth-moving equipment, cattle health and feed, and fully equipped workshops.
